Lyles College Industry Expo connects students with careers

The Lyles College of Engineering at Fresno State hosted its 19th annual Welcome Back BBQ and Industry Expo on Sept. 23 outside the Engineering East building on campus. A vital part of the academic experience, about 60% of Lyles College students receive full-time job offers through their internships and more than 90% secure employment in California.

Company representatives and Fresno State alumni, like Varun Madnani of CertainTeed, have been working with Lyles College student interns for 15 years and said opportunities are immeasurable.

“Internships are a win-win from the student’s perspective and the company’s perspective,” Madnani said. “It’s important for students, especially graduate students, to gain some experience and be open to whatever is offered to them.”
