Fresno State’s 24-hour Day of Giving returns to support student success

Fresno State’s ninth annual Day of Giving, a 24-hour digital fundraising effort, is Wednesday, March 18, beginning at midnight and running through 11:59 p.m.

Alumni, faculty, staff, parents and students are invited to show Bulldog pride on Day of Giving, held during the weeklong “I Heart Fresno State Week” celebrating everything that makes Fresno State special.

“Day of Giving reminds us of the incredible impact we can make when we come together as a community. Every gift — large or small — helps champion programs that are meaningful to our philanthropic partners and empower our talented students. Through Day of Giving, we move our mission of education, one that powers the economy of our Valley and elevates the quality of life of our neighborhoods.”

Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval

Philanthropic partners can support the college, school or programs that matter most to them like student research, scholarships, internship programs, innovative learning environments and much more. The Day of Giving website, which shows a countdown to March 18, will begin accepting donations at midnight that day. A live leaderboard will track progress throughout the day, providing real-time updates.

Events specific to Day of Giving include:

  • “I Heart Fresno State” kickoff, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16, in the Memorial Gardens.  This event, hosted by Student Involvement: Spotlight Events, kicks off a week of activities that will bring students together to highlight campus traditions, student involvement opportunities and Bulldog pride. The “I Heart Fresno State” website lists other events and activities happening throughout the week.
  • Bulldog Roadshow, March 17-18, when Fresno State staff members will visit local businesses to share Bulldog spirit, amplify Bulldog pride, inspire giving and celebrate employers’ support of Fresno State. Visits will feature special appearances from mascots Victor E. Bulldog and TimeOut, locally produced treats from the Gibson Farm Market and Fresno State Creamery.
  • Plushie Scavenger Hunt, March 18, where staff and faculty will sponsor Victor E. Bulldog plushies for $100 and hide them on the Fresno State campus. Students who find a plushie get to keep it and choose which Fresno State fund the $100 will support.
  • College of Arts and Humanities Day of Giving Celebration, 5 to 8 p.m. March 18, at the M Street Gallery, 1419 M St. in downtown Fresno. The event will showcase and celebrate outstanding student creative and scholarly work from across the college while raising funds to support the college and its programs.

All gifts will be used for programs and initiatives to help fulfill Fresno State’s mission to educate and empower students for success. Support Day of Giving by wearing Bulldog Red to demonstrate Fresno State pride. Use the hashtag #FresnoStateDOG on all related social media posts.

During the 2025 Day of Giving this past March, donors from 42 states and 12 countries raised a total of $615,879, a 30.6% increase over the prior Day of Giving in November 2023, and surpassing the previous record of $550,366 in 2019.

Fresno State’s annual 24-hour online Day of Giving will take place on Wednesday, March 18. The university relies on private support, including gifts made during Day of Giving, to enhance student success, expand opportunities for students, and strengthen programs across campus.
