Students serve at Poverello House during Thanksgiving break

On Monday, Nov. 24, more than 20 Fresno State students will spend the first day of Thanksgiving Break preparing and serving meals for community members at Poverello House’s Papa Mike’s Café. This one-day service event was planned by Richter Center student leaders under the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning

Papa Mike’s Café began in 2006 with a vision of providing three meals a day to anyone in the community. Since then, it has expanded beyond this with the help of donors and volunteers to evolve into a full-on restaurant experience complete with menus and servers.
