STEM Expo welcomes families, students and educators

The Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative at Fresno State invites high school and college students, teachers and their families to the STEM Expo 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Science II courtyard and garden. The event is open to the public, but registration is required. Parking is free in lots P6 or P15.

The community-centered event, which includes over a dozen STEM booths, food trucks and shows at the Downing Planetarium, aims to cultivate the next generation of STEM educators and celebrate STEM teachers who make a difference.

Workshops include:

  • Chemistry Workshop with Dr. Fred Nelson, 10-11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m. at Science II (Room 118).
  • How to Stop a Disease with Math and Data with Dr. Mario Banuelos, 10-11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m. at Science II (Room 125).

A dedicated teacher pathway and retention hub will offer quick advising on credentials and authorizations, information on scholarships and supports, sign-ups for follow-up advising and a welcoming space for teacher appreciation and peer networking.
