Lecture to focus on Deaf and hard of hearing resources for K-12

The Silent Garden Program at Fresno State is accepting registration for its 14th annual lecture from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21. Presented virtually, the free public lecture — “Interpreting with a Deaf Heart: Building Access in K-12 Education” — will focus on Deaf-centered practice, collaboration and the systems that shape meaningful access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

The lecture is designed to support interpreters, educators and administrators, and will include six keynote speakers, who will share how to be successful K-12 interpreters in classroom settings using care, passion and positivity for Deaf and hard of hearing students. Continuing education units (0.70) are available by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. and the Board of Evaluation of Interpreters. INFO: For questions, contact Dr. Paul Ogden at thesilentgarden@csufresno.edu and register online.
