Technology Services at Fresno State has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem designed to improve student services, streamline campus operations and expand access to resources.
“This ecosystem strengthens how we operate,” said Dr. Bao Johri, vice president of information technology and chief information officer. “When used responsibly, AI helps us work more efficiently and better serve our students.”
Built on the university’s Bulldog Genie platform, the ecosystem includes three AI-powered tools: TechVisor, EduVisor and AssistVisor.
- TechVisor functions as a digital concierge, providing quick answers to common questions and reducing the need for in-person visits and emails.
- EduVisor, designed for the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, helps faculty and staff process credential program applications more quickly while maintaining accuracy and human oversight.
- AssistVisor enhances accessibility by creating on-demand, simplified, easy-to-navigate versions of web content.
“AI at Fresno State allows the campus community to learn and decide how they want to use it in the future,” said Terrence Martin, a senior data analytics major who helped develop TechVisor’s knowledge base. “Students can use TechVisor to troubleshoot common issues, like Wi-Fi or email access, with step-by-step guidance — helping them identify problems, find solutions on their own and access the same reliable information.”
Early results include reduced manual workloads, faster response times for student services, greater consistency and transparency, and improved digital fluency across campus. Technology Services will continue expanding the ecosystem, focusing on responsible, human-centered innovation that supports student success and strengthens campus services.
