Students and families from across the Central Valley will gather at Fresno State from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, for the university’s 11th annual Feria de Educación.
The event empowers bilingual students and families by connecting them with resources to succeed in higher education and beyond. It also provides families with tools to support and advocate for their students.
Feria de Educación was established at Fresno State and other California State University campuses as part of the CSU’s Graduation Initiative 2025, which focused on eliminating equity gaps in college readiness and degree completion.
This year’s event will feature opening remarks by Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval and Jesus Chavez, president and regional general manager of TelevisaUnivision, California.
With support from Univision, the Parent Institute for Quality Education, the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno, Fresno State programs and departments, and other community partners, organizers expect more than 3,000 people to attend.
Participants will have access to a resource fair, campus tours, a children’s area and a reading garden. Workshops offered in English and Spanish will cover higher education pathways, college affordability, health, career development and community engagement.
Celebrating Latine art and culture, Feria de Educación will also feature performances by Mariachi Orgullo de Fresno State and Los Danzantes de Aztlán.
“Families play a powerful role in a student’s educational journey,” said Martina Granados, associate vice president for Strategic Enrollment Management at Fresno State. “By providing information in multiple languages and creating space for families to ask questions and come to campus, Feria de Educación helps entire households make informed decisions about college together.”
“The strength of Feria de Educación comes from the many campus and community partners working toward a shared goal to help students and families see what’s possible and how to get there,” Granados said.
“Together, we are helping students explore career possibilities, understand their college options and take practical steps toward an education that can transform their lives and communities.”
