Doctor of Nursing Practice program earns 10-year accreditation renewal

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education has renewed accreditation for the Fresno State School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program for the maximum term of 10 years. This highest possible outcome reflects the program’s full compliance with all standards and requirements, with no compliance issues identified.

Fresno State has offered its own independent Doctor of Nursing Practice program since 2019. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2018, Fresno State led a joint Doctor of Nursing Practice program in partnership with San Jose State University.

The five-semester Doctor of Nursing Practice program is designed to prepare nurse leaders for research-based practice in patient care, with many graduates of the program taking on advanced leadership roles in healthcare organizations or becoming nursing faculty at colleges and universities, including Fresno State.
