Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for Fresno State faculty, staff, alumni and military, $5 for Fresno State students and $10 for all other students. Children under 5 will not be admitted.
Adapted by Dwayne Hartford from Kate DiCamillo’s beloved, award-winning novel, “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” follows a china rabbit named Edward who begins his journey as a treasured companion before finding himself lost and far from home. As he passes from one owner to the next, Edward encounters love, loss, heartbreak and hope, discovering the transformative power of opening his heart to others.
Through a theatrical blend of storytelling, physical performance and imaginative stagecraft, the production brings Edward’s extraordinary journey to life, inviting audiences to experience the joys and sorrows that shape him along the way. At its heart, the play is a moving exploration of what it means to love, to be loved and to find one’s way back to connection, even after heartbreak.
“I’m thrilled to bring this beautiful, deeply moving story about learning to love and allowing ourselves to be loved to Fresno audiences,” Herring said. “Our adaptation of Kate DiCamillo’s beloved, award-winning novel embraces the magic of live theatre in bold and imaginative ways, incorporating theatrical techniques that are making their debut on the University Theatre stage. We’ve created an experience that invites audiences of all ages to rediscover the power of love, connection and belonging, and hopefully, leaves them talking long after they’ve left the theatre.”
“The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” features student performers Andre Avila-Villanueva, Julia Bentley, Kylie Brasseaux, Daphne Doss, Natalie Smith, Henry Mercado, Em Monson, Bastian Morris, Pacey Nelson, Addison Rollins, Mia Simmone, Diego J. Sosa and Jayvaughn Sterns Jr.
