Lifelong learners can sign up for priority registration at the summer catalog drop party from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at the Kremen Education Building (Room 140). The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Fresno State provides engaging learning opportunities designed for those age 50 and better — no homework, no grades and no exams.
OLLI at Fresno State recently celebrated its 20th anniversary on campus and is one of more than 120 OLLI programs nationwide, each connected to a host college or university. Members enjoy live and virtual classes, cultural events and flexible membership options designed to foster learning and connection.
The membership fee — $25 per person for the summer session — provides the following perks:
- Admission plus a guest pass to keynote presentations.
- An opportunity to enroll in OLLI courses and adventures.
- Free parking for OLLI campus events.
- Information about events happening at Fresno State.
- All OLLI members receive a Fresno State Library card good for the duration of that session.
A sneak peek at highlights from the summer catalog includes:
- Keynote: “The Story of the California 9/11 Memorial” with retired Clovis Fire Captain Jim Stemler.
- Adventure: Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium with biology professor Dr. Brian Tsukimura.
- Once-a-month courses: “Current Events,” “Games You Love to Play,” “Book Club” and “Let’s Talk Sports.”
- 16 in-person and online short courses.
Click here to RSVP for the catalog drop party. Online registration opens to everyone at 8 a.m. May 21, the day after the catalog drop party.
