Physical activity isn’t just a way for children to release energy, but rather a powerful tool for shaping children’s brains, boosting health and supporting overall wellbeing.
In this video, Dr. Nicole Smith, an associate professor of physical education at Fresno State, shares how recess can lead to positive behavioral health and wellness outcomes for students across the Valley.
Through the Physical Activity Research in Kinesiology program, Smith and her students are partnering with local schools to develop a research-driven model that strengthens physical education, informs recess policy and supports student achievement throughout the region.
