111th Armenian genocide commemorated at Fresno State

Two events commemorating the 111th anniversary of the Armenian genocide will take place on Friday, April 24, at the Armenian Genocide Monument on the Maple Mall at Fresno State. The Armenian Studies Program and the Armenian Students Organization will host a commemorative event featuring the laying of the flowers and guest speakers at noon.

The Armenian Genocide Commemoration community program begins at 6:30 p.m. with the laying of flowers, followed by a 7 p.m. program. Organized and presented by the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee of Fresno, the event includes remarks by Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval and the keynote address by filmmaker and Central Valley native Ani Hovannisian Kevorkian.
