The Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning will host its biannual Community Service Opportunities Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, in front of the Kennel Bookstore.
The fair, open to all Fresno State students, faculty and staff, will feature more than 65 community and campus agencies showcasing volunteer, internship and job opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with representatives from local community-benefit organizations to learn how they can get involved, serve the region and gain meaningful experience.
The fair also provides an opportunity for students to discover volunteer placements that may help fulfill course-based service-learning requirements. Agencies that have participated in past events include the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Central California Blood Center, Valley Children’s Healthcare, Make a Wish, Sierra Foothill Conservancy and the SPCA.
The event is free and designed to foster connections between Fresno State and the surrounding community.
