Presented by the John D. Welty Center for Educational Policy and Leadership, the Exemplary Practices in Educational Leadership Conference brings together Central Valley leaders from schools, districts, businesses and community organizations to share best practices and challenges and features two nationally recognized speakers in the field of education. The conference theme is “Future Ready: Cultivating a Transformative Pathway Forward.”
The agenda begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District, 808 4th St, Clovis. Registration is $220 per person.
The day begins with keynote speaker Kenneth Shelton, co-author of the bestselling book “The Promises and Perils of AI in Education: Ethics and Equity Have Entered The Chat.” He will talk about “Promises and Cautions of AI in Education.”
The afternoon keynote speaker, author and award-winning principal Jimmie Cassie, will deliver his talk, “Culture of Excellence: Moving our Team Beyond the Status Quo.”
An expert panel discussion, “High Hopes for High-Need Youth,” draws from local leaders in the criminal justice system who work with youth. The conference includes two breakout sessions from which conference attendees can select 16 one-hour sessions on various topics relevant to supporting and elevating positive outcomes for K-12 students, teachers and staff.
The annual conference is a signature program of the John D. Welty Center for Educational Policy and Leadership within the Kremen School of Education and Human Development at Fresno State.
